Catamaran

Do or Die & Pink Hair

The sounds of indie rock and pop always coincide with warm weather, and indie surf rock band Catamaran knows how to deliver the summer vibes. With their pair of singles, Do or Die and Pink Hair, the band captures the feeling of a summer day spent on the beach, which creates an overall positive energy to amp up a playlist.

Do or Die is the first track in the pair of singles, and it’s a fast-paced drum and guitar driven song, with the indie muffled vocals that are familiar to the genre. The chorus is catchy, and easy to sing along to. Pink Hair  is the second track and is a much stronger song entirely, with a slower introduction leading into a fun chorus with strong drums and a rockier edge. The song towards its end has a fun guitar riff that sticks with the listener long after the song is over. Though both tracks have their differences, the band’s writing style is consistent, and the tracks have noted similarities that pair them well together. The pair of singles are an upbeat, easy listen and Catamaran’s future releases will be on my radar.
